Comments on our website are possible via an external application Disqus ( When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form (name and email address) to help spam detection. Please note that if you post comments on this site, any personally identifiable information you provide in those comments may be read, viewed or used by anyone viewing them.

What rights you have over your data & how long your data is being stored

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register to comment with Disqus (see ‘Comments’) , Disqus also stores the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time with Disqus. Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Please contact Disqus support for more information.

All data collected via Google Analytics (see ‘Collection of Information’) will be destroyed after 38 months and this on a monthly basis. However, the retention period of a user will be reset with each new event (visit) from that user.

We currently do not have a mailing list nor do we collect email addresses used anywhere else in order to mail you promotional information or any other type of information. You only provide your email address in order to leave a comment. We will never use it to send you any other type of emails. If we were to create a mailing list in the future we will add to the Privacy Policy. We will never add your email address to any kind of mailing list without your explicit consent.

Ella Was Here uses an HTTPS protocol that encrypts your information to protect you against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction of your personal information.
