This place, oh this beautiful part of the world. Breathtaking. Picture perfect I’d call it. The Lechtal Valley in Austria is one of the most beautiful areas I have ever visited. We have been coming here since we were kids. My parents started coming here before I was born, when it was just the 2 of them. This place is special to me. So I was overjoyed when we finally got to go back this summer.
Unfortunately this time around we didn’t have the weather on our side. Luckily we rented this super cozy apartment in the municipality Bach so we weren’t to confined to one space indoors. We previously did zimmerfrei (rent a room) and we even stayed in a hotel in Steeg before. I would highly recommend either one of the options. I honestly don’t have a bad thing to say about my experiences here.
The scenery, can we just talk about the breathtaking views for a second? Well, I could talk about this place for hours, believe me,
but I think it is better to just show you . . .
We could hardly stay indoors for the whole time we were there.
So we went out for a hike even though it was raining . . .
Finally some sunshine during our last days in Austria . . .
I must admit ,
The Käserei in Steeg is partly the reason we always come back to Lechtal. Homemade ice cream, cheese, yogurt and more, all produced right here in the Lechtal valley.
The Lechtal valley in Austria is mind-blowingly beautiful. Unfortunately, because of the bad weather, we didn’t get to do some of the hiking trails we had originally planned on doing. So I can’t wait for our next visit! If I ever end up going back, I will definitely write a more elaborate post on which hiking trails to take and how to chose the perfect place to stay, and maybe even publish a ‘what to eat’-guide!
But for now, enjoy the beautiful pictures.
Love, Ella
