Snaps from Bayside & Dún Laoghaire

Boats in Dún Loaghaire, Ireland // Ella Was Here

Last week I went on a citytrip to Dublin with a friend. She had just finished her exams and I was in need of a few days out to relax, so we decided to go to Dublin. We stayed at this lovely Airbnb in Bayside, not far from the Dublin city centre. The lady whose house we stayed in, made us breakfast every morning (she even made us fresh scones!). She was always in for a chat and would gladly answer our questions about our stay in Dublin. I would highly recommend staying with her if you’re in Dublin any time soon.

Since we’ve both been there before, we didn’t do the big touristy stuff. And therefore I did not take a lot of pictures in the city centre. I did take pictures in Bayside and Dún Laoghaire which I will be sharing here. Both towns are so gorgeous (in my opinion anyway) and definitely worth a visit. You can take the Dart to both. So if you are in Dublin for a few days, the towns are still within reach.

If you end up in Bayside I would suggest taking a walk on the promenade. The view is breath-taking! Wear a sweater when you go because the wind is strong. Even though we had 24°C when we were there, we had it rather cold on the promenade.

There are plenty of things to do in Dún Laoghaire but the pier is definitely a must-visit! You can walk all the way down and even go get yourself an ice cream if the weather is good enough. The first time we came to Dublin we stayed in a hotel in Dún Laoghaire. It was amazing to wake up to such a gorgeous view every morning.

The towns on the outskirts of Dublin are a little underrated. I loved it and would definitely go again. Ireland is a beautiful country and I really want to explore more of it!

What’s your dream holiday destination?

Love, Ella
